an, what’s up with October? Not only are there three school library conferences/gatherings in one month (AASL, BAISL, and Internet Librarian), but they are all in California/Nevada! How many conferences can you pack into one month anyway?

Hey there kiddo,
Just wanted you to know that your time in New Orleans really struck a deep chord in me. I saw a wonderful series, not all of it unfortunately, on PBS. Tavis Smiley was in the Ninth Ward for a week. I was so moved that when I was recently painting up in the Blue Ridge Mountains, what came out of me was the loss and the courage in New Orleans.
Grant said he was going to call Rotary International to see just what they were doing. Rotary has changed the world in the area of polio and now malaria. Seems time to bring it on “home’.
